Frequently Asked Questions

What are your hours?
We are open 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Saturday, and 10am to 5pm on Sunday.

Do you guys ship?
We do! We can ship anything you see in-store, even furniture. Shipping charges apply.

What is Raku?
Raku is a form of traditional Japanese pottery. To create the iridescent colors found in raku, the artist fires the pottery at low temperature with lead glazes, and removes the piece from flame while it is still glowing hot, to cool in the open air. American forms of raku pottery have added firing in aluminium containers with combustible materials to create even more brilliant colors.

What is Leland Blue Stone?
Leland Blue Stone is slag leftover from iron ore production plants in Leland County, specifically Leland Lake Superior Iron Company. After a multitude of issues relating to production caused a shutdown of the plant, much of the industrial production work was deposited into the harbor, including slag. This slag later hardened to a glassy stone-like strength, and vary in color from green to purple to, as it is most well known, blue.
